"This paper discusses the redesign of a team against explosive devices (ECAEX), designed as a tool to provide security features to perform the procedures for destruction of IEDs. Because of the experience with the use of this device in the area of operations and after five years of its initial design, it has become necessary toredesign it to improve its performance and op ti mize its use in accordance with the technical
requirements for demining in a mobile unit.
The descripti on of a methodological framework
based on some design strategies for improving
the prototype, designed from the product de sign specifi cati ons, concept generati on and
product ideas and selecti on of ideas and eva luati ng them is presented. Some aspects con sidered in the constructi on of the new device
called mobile system against explosive devices
(SIMCA) are discussed. Quanti tati ve and quali tati ve results of tests are presented with prac ti cal testi ng fi eld, which sought to assess basic
parameters related to weight and resistance of
the materials according to the requirements of
practi cal use in the fi eld of operati ons design,
which were validated by performing test with
three groups of military anti -explosives tech nicians. Was found according to the tests, the
SIMCA is a safer, lighter, more comfortable both in transport and in operati on functi onal team."
