"The results of an ongoing investigation related to the adequacy of an analytical technique for the removal of chromium in samples of wastewater from tanneries discharge points taken on Tunjuelito river San Benito neighborhood, Bogotá DC is presented here. It is therefore proposed for the adjustment of a process for reducing the levels of chromium which is a lime precipitation, upon reduction (pre-reduction) of hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium using orange peel, which may become in an appropriate procedure to the extent that is easy to implement, efficient and low cost, since
the proposals consulted do not offer these ad vantages simultaneously.
The results of this research could be a source
of information relevant to the construction of
treatment plants wastewater which control the
level of contamination by chromium favors,
which would prevent this substance is disper sed through water sources Tunjuelito as river."
