Abstract

The increased use of geosynthetics has now led to a rise in the study of their behavior within structural systems. This paper presents the physical modelling of reinforced walls with geosynthetics developed through a centrifuge modelling test at a reduced scale, in order to investigate the structure and stability of a gravity retaining wall in geocells. The parameters of filling and reinforcement materials were evalu-ated by a variety of laboratory tests. The results of the modellings showed a high capacity to withstand high loads by the geocells before failure, which increases the resistance of the wall
