Abstract

In this work the weldability of SAE 1040 steel AISI carried double phase using pre and post heat treatment welding to reduce changes in the properties of these steels was evaluated. Once the dual-phase steel was obtained joints joining process was conducted using SMAW welding electrode E7018 and E312- 16; later the pre- and post-weld treatments were applied finding that this type of steel the most appropriate welding electrode to apply is that the method E312-16 and showing fewer changes to microstructural level is applying both types of treatment (pre and post welding).
