/ Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support the calculation of quantities of work

Abstract

The document presents a series of recommendations based on Building Information Modeling methodology for calculating amounts for budget work, the discussion addressed from some common problems detected in the process of calculating amounts of work, based results of several housing construction projects. For this analysis new technologies of virtual modeling for projects that increase design quality and accuracy in the calculation of amounts of work to reduce errors in construction processes were used. A specific method of calculating amounts of work based on the modeling project using BIM software to generate a delivery format amounts, in order to reduce deviations from the budget and facilitate control during the execution of the work is implemented medium and long term.
