/Appraisal of alternatives for drug distribution dosage units at the university hospital of the samaritan starting from the application of discrete event simulation

Abstract

In the research was analyzed the unit – dose drug distribution system used in the La Samaritana University Hospital, with the objective to evaluate unit dose drug distribution alternatives. The system was expanded taking into account the percentage of resource utilization, the cumulative demand for prescription drugs and associated costs. The drugs distribution works by prescriptions coordinated logistically by the central pharmacy. To achieve the objective of the research was used the discrete simulation tool, it allowed evaluating alternative distribution for drugs to prepare in the unit – dose drug distribution system and which are not solicited to prepare.
