Abstract

A comparative analysis of the methods to design buildings was achieved with ASD and LRFD, which are included into the rules of seismic resistance in Colombia (NSR-10), intended to determine the viability of using neither one nor another, and to assess materials quantities and costs of buildings, to stablish which method would be the best to design the safety and low costs structures.
