In this investigation, the influence of the heat treatment Subcero was determined at a temperature of -80 ° C with residence times of 0.5, 1 and 3 hours, in the corrosion resistance, microhardness and microstructure of the aluminum alloy 2024 with a After homogenized heat treatment (AA 2024-O3) at a temperature of 430 ° C for one hour, with controlled cooling inside the oven. From the corrosion test carried out in the saline chamber it is concluded that the Subzero TT affects the corrosion resistance. In the microhardness test the samples with Subcero TT at 30 minutes (0.5 hours) obtained an increase of 3.38%. Microstructurally, the material did not receive significant changes when it was heat treated with homogenate and later Subcero although small variations were observed in the edges and grain sizes in addition to the presence of some precipitates and small pores.
