Proposal of specifications for topographic surveys in road projects

Abstract

The present investigation approaches the problematic of the topographic surveys from the methodological point of view of its realization and later processing, deepening in the description of the most used techniques and the characterization of the used equipment to later review, through the cases of study, the precision offered by the surveys in combination with other variables such as the phase of the studies for which the surveys were done, the condition of the land and the vegetation cover. Finally, based on the results and the recommendations set out in various manuals and national and foreign technical standards, a proposal of technical specifications is formulated for the standardization of topographic surveys in road projects that incorporate aspects as important as the required minimum precisions., the influence of inherent errors to each technique, the selection of equipment and the feasibility of the methodologies available for each particular case.
