Importance of Cybersecurity Measures in Healthcare Institutions

Abstract

This article is a reflection of the importance of implement cybersecurity measures in healthcare institutions taking into account the actual crisis because of the pandemics and the possible cybernetic vulnerabilities associated to health institutions. It presents some attacks like the one called WannaCry and the subsequent response in policies of security oriented to the health sector. Also, the common attacks in the health area are analyzed and conceptualized with the objective of conscientize and highlighting the data value that the health manages. Cybersecurity must be in the front, mainly because of the critical growth of its use and all the risks associated with it. All the institutions are vulnerable to cyberattacks and nowaday the healthcare ones seems to have such a great relevance than their data security must be classificated as high importance.
