Abstract

One of the effects of ultraviolet radiation on plants is that it interferes with chemical (DNA), biological, anatomical, morphological processes, among others. The most exposed plants are those found in the high mountains, due to several factors such as the degradation of the ozone layer, which is responsible for absorbing the different radiations that penetrate the earth. It has been shown that when guadua shows a significant variation in its percentage of humidity, this directly influences its mechanical resistance properties; In addition, biological factors can degrade its internal structure; but the effects of UV-B radiation on guadua have been studied very little.
