Abstract

This article presents the results of the evaluation of a one-dimensional hydraulic model (Hec RAS) and a two- dimensional (River2D) on a section of the Magdalena River as it passes through the towns of Puerto Salgar and Gold and the integration of these models systems Geographic Information. The comparative results show differences between the models regarding the extent of flooding and demonstrates the importance of knowledge select the type of hydraulic model to be applied depending on the type of analysis performe.
