Characterization of risk scenarios for technological events associated with chemical substances in the industrial sectors of Puente Aranda in Bogota

Abstract

This study characterizes risk scenarios due to technological events associated with chemical substances in 14 industrial sectors in the urban locality of Puente Aranda, Bogotá. In this view, the economic activities of 218 industrial establishments that use chemicals are identified in the study area and an inventory of technological events related to leaks, spills, fires and explosions that occurred between 1997 and 2017 is done. Subsequently, applying a methodology for the characterization of areas exposed to technological risks and international standards, the technological threat is analyzed and, taking into account the exposed areas and elements, the risk scenarios are carried out.
